A little boy is thwarted in his plans to enjoy the pool in his yard. After all, there isn't much room for him in the pool since a whale is enjoying its waters. The whale is simply not interested in going anywhere. After trying all sorts of strategies, from the simplest to the most elaborate involving construction equipment, the youngster comes up with a solution that works out well for both whale and boy. A little boy is surprised to find a whale in his swimming pool and tries everything he can think of to convince him to move before finally going with the flow (of the whale's blowhole, that is). By story's end, a new animal pops up, but this time it's a bear in the boy's bed and it's naptime.

Cute story. I really liked the illustrations.

This book is funny, and it reminds me a lot of one of my son's other favorites, There's a Bear in My Chair by Ross Collins. Very cute story.
