There were parts of this that I really enjoyed and parts that I just didn't understand at all. I had read Christopher Buehlman's book
Those Across The River and found it enjoyable and with just the right amount of "creep factor" . This one didn't even begin to be equal to it and the only "creep factor" it possessed was the title and the cover of the book. It became very confusing to be constantly jerked back and forth from New York to Russia and most of the characters were just plain weird. If it's goal was to be a horror story or a fantasy...it missed the boat.
