This is the first of Steinem's books that I've ever read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hadn't before realized just how intersectional her feminist perspective is, and found it really refreshing. When she started her feminist activism, her perspective was decades ahead of her time, and continues to be so right through today.

I was particularly inspired by her writings on Native American activists, especially Wilma Mankiller. I highly recommend this.

I listened to the audio book narrated by Debora Winger and really enjoyed Gloria's entertaining, if at times chaotic, reminiscing of her life on the road. Her stories are moving, motivating, at times funny and others sad. ...more
