A young man dreams (and obsesses) about a blue flower, travels with his mother to meet his grandfather and is told stories, fables and poetry by everyone he meets on the way. Then he falls in love with a woman - whom he associates with the blue flower - and trains to be a poet. The book is allegory within allegory, parts of which reads like a fever dream and other parts like a sermon.
