I fully enjoyed reading this book which is set in Russia at the time when socialism was becoming popular. The socialist ideaology runs throughout this novel but it is expressed in clear and simple language as understood by the mother who is the main character of the story. This novel consists of two books. Book One deals with the mother's fear as she worries about her son who is one of the leading men in the socialist movement.
