This was a very entertaining adventure novel, even if Verne's castaways were implausibly gifted with just the right skills and knowledge necessary to survive.

I don't know how to rate this! It's well thought out, capably written, but the techy explanations+improbabilities+ MacGyver/Pollyanna mix was a bit much. I suppose in its time it was a wonderful piece of escapism and gave the public a much-needed tale of men triumphing over their situation rather than being victims of it, but for me, it didn't hold up. Verne's writing skill is the saving grace.
