“Never pray to the gods who answer at night…�. What a great line, and what an interesting novel! It was definitely more of a slow-burn than a fast paced page-turner, but I did have a hard time putting it down , and I kept telling myself “just one more chapter…�. True, there were some slow parts, mainly when she’s making her way through France early on and is trying to survive, but I still found it interesting to follow along as she tried to discover the boundaries, and loopholes, of her curse. This was a good read. I like the unconventional ending. I'm so odd; I would have liked to have read about the different big events in history of which she might have been witness. When they did flip to the past, I enjoyed those parts. I kind of felt like one of her love interests might have been more boring than she deserved... but I guess there is a need you have that you have to remedy, no matter how exciting your past might have been.
