Everyone should read this book. I don’t think I will be able to clearly communicate my thoughts and feelings about The Hate U Give. From the onset, the story was rich in detail and conveyed complex emotions in a way very few authors have been able to in my experience. Whooooooohooo, just saw the trailer for this and it looks AH-MAY-ZING. It also looks like they stayed very, very true to the book, which was the best way to go about it because the book is perfection. It was one of the best, if not the best, book I read in 2017. Why Every Teenager Should Read This Book
Ok, not really. I never think every book is for every reader. And I also am pretty adamant about choice in reading. It's just that I want every teenager (possibly every teenager and every adult) to choose to read this book.
Now, for some of them, it won't offer any new insights into what life is like as a person of color living in the poorer area of a city, because they're already living that life. But I think they'd still love Starr, her voice, and her gen ...more
