"Elend: I kind of lost track of time...
Breeze: for two hours?!
Elend: there were books involved."
Okay, let's just get into it. I don't know, but I didn't like this book as much as the first one. No, it wasn't bad, but I enjoy it little less than the first one. But I admit the last 100 pages is FREAKIN MARVELOUS without a doubt.

Great sequel to the first book. I enjoyed the expansion of the theology and history behind the Deepness and the Well of Ascension. That alone was what kept me hooked. It was good to see Elend and Vin continue to grow as characters and they make for a very powerful couple. The only negative I can think of was the build up of Luthadel's siege. I feel like the armies kind of sat there for far to long with nothing happening. The failed diplomatic attempts and Cett making his way into the city withou

I felt like this book dragged for a bit!! It took me a bit longer to get through it than the previous novel and I think it's because the plan is set out from the beginning of the book!! It's set up that certain characters must meet and that's the plot!! But oh my god that ending!!! It TOTALLY makes everything worthwhile!!
The characters are all still brilliantly imagined and I was as invested in their lives as always!! I genuinely wanted to know what happens to them. I was going to rate this a li ...more

Whoa!! I'm glad I finished it. It took me a very long time as you can see from the starting date to finish. The plot at the beginning was a little slow paced but it got better and better towards the end. I'm a fan!

Wow. Brandon Sanderson really outdid himself with this installment in his Mistborn Series. I was thoroughly impressed with the first book in this series, but this second book really just showed me how much Sanderson has planned for this world he's created. His world building continues in this book to be fantastic and realistic and reliable, and his characters somehow end up being even more likable than before. Vin grew on me so much more in this book, and Elend was just as wonderful as ever. Our
