This book was very short, a fast read.

It's not entirely relevant to the entire series, but it does have some great history about how the lands formed and what types of magic were used.

The story takes you back to the First Wizard's time when he was younger.

The risks he took and why he took them, allows the reader to connect to this character even more. The wizard is indeed a powerful character, physically and emotionally.
