I was nervous about this book, because I love this time period, but I don't care much for estranged married couple romance. However, Ms. Raybourn tackles both with beautiful grace. This book has wonderful atmosphere and Evie and Gabriel are both very endearing characters. The adventure was a much appreciated bonus.

This 1920's story by Deanna Raybourn has romance, drama, and adventure set among exotic locales. Evangeline Starke never expected to see her husband Gabriel again. That is because he died on the Lusitania. Imagine her shock when, five years later, she sees a recent photo of him. Evangeline sets off to discover the truth about Gabriel, and encounters extreme danger along the way.
