I'd expected the h to be annoying as previous books didn't exactly set her up as anything but highly immature. The immaturity continued here but there was some more context to her behavior, yet still she was annoying. Nothing screams immaturity as much as someone doing something hell or high water just because they mustn't lose face. As for the end, that was strange. Book 3 of the Born in Blood series

This book centers around Matteo and Gianna. Matteo is Luca's younger brother, and Gianna is Aria's younger sister. I do love when two siblings marry another pair of siblings... I just find it really cute! And the pair certainly kept things interesting! It was nice how different Gianna was from Aria and Valentina.

With that, though, I did have some issues with this book. The first thirty percent of this book is Gianna on the run from her father and Matteo. I do n Book 3 of the Born in Blood series

I just find it really cute! And the pair certainly kept things interesting! It was nice how different Gianna was from Aria and Valentina.

With that, though, I did have some issues with this book. The first thirty percent of this book is Gianna on the run from her father and Matteo. I do not consider this a spoiler as we know Gianna runs at the end of Luca Vitiello and Bound by Duty. Anyway, because of the time spent on Gianna's running, later, when Matteo and Gianna are together it seems they just jump from a physical relationship to love. I didn't feel like I got to see them actually develop the feelings (despite being told they are). So, in my opinion, I think this book should have been longer. That is something I rarely say... but that's because I say it about books that are long for no reason. This needed more emotional development between Matteo and Gianna.

And then there was the predictable ending that had a "little" action and Gianna was able to show her loyalty to Matteo (even though that wasn't a straight line... although it probably could have been if there had been more development with them beforehand). Anway, the last issue I had with this book was that some of the grammar is glaringly wrong. I am reading this via Kindle so I don't know if this is an editing issue or a book to Kindle transfer issue. Anyway, some examples: Chapter 18*- "I could feel the first treacherous signs of a nice buzz." Chapter 21**- "My head was still tender but I'd have rather cut my own throat than told Gianna to be careful." And those are just two examples. That might seem petty... but there were these same type of issues- grammatical errors and sentences that didn't make any sense in both Bound by Honor and Bound by Duty. So, I'm wondering if it's just because they are early works of Ms. Reilly. Since I'll be reading at least two of her series I guess I'll find out if that changes or not.
