This is the first in the series where a group of Warriors opened Pandora's box and unleashed Demons on the world. The greek Gods made each one host a demon. Additionally they are tracked by a group called The Hunters who wants to destroy them all.
This story features a woman named Ashlyn who goes to them seeking help for her power of hearing past conversations everywhere she goes. She meets Maddox (the Host of Violence) and the voices are silent.

It started out interesting enough: Six immortals who have been cursed to host within themselves the demons they set loose upon the earth as an act of rebellion towards the gods. Okay, sounds good. Got a bit of mythology thrown in...right up my alley. Buuuut...the romance starts and herein lies my problem. Just like the BDB and most of the other paranormals featuring badder than bad heroes - this guy made me want to vomit with his over the top "mush" when it came to his heroine. I have no issue w

i liked this book for what it was but i really thought it was unoriginal, maybe because of all the books i read with a tortured hero and instant love i am more critical of books like these but to tell the truth it was good but it wasn't great.

Wow. I bought this book because it showed up whenever I looked for new authors to read. I've known about Gena Showalter for years, but never read anything by her. Not sure why.
I really liked this book. Another sit down and devour in 3 hours kind of book. I'm eager to get the next one. I hear they keep getting better.
True, it's not much different from J.R Ward, Lara Adrian, Jacquelyn Frank, etc...but there is a reason I read and love those books, so I'm good to go.

Rating is somewhere between a 2 and 3, but since I'm feeling vague and generous tonight, up to a 3 it goes.
PNR used to be my thing, about 10 years ago. Not so much now, but when I spotted this series that's been aging on my giant TBR pile as the pick for the annual read-a-thon over at Series Overload of Series, I thought now's my chance to jump back in to the mix. I've read and liked Gina Showalter in the past before - I believe it was her Alien Huntress series.

The book started off much differently then it ended, or at least how I was expecting it to end.
The beginning gave the impression it was going to be a Black Dagger Brotherhood and then steadily slipped into a rather typical romance novel.
The characters devolved into less likable stereo types and the story became rather wishy washy.
I will certainly try the next, but if the quality doesn't improve I doubt I will continue. ...more

Loved this book, enjoyed the explanation and background of the whole book and enjoyed the relationship between Ashlyn and Maddox but found that it included other people too much for my taste and wanted to flick through until they returned [I didn't though] Can't wait to get my hands on the next two!

This is my first Gena Showalter book. I loved it. It was very entertaining. Some steamy scenes, and I loved the charachters and all the different personalities. This books main charachter is Maddox. I'm not going to give any more in case some haven't read it yet.

I couldn't get enough of this book. It was a fast read, and I loved every minute of it.
