Expectations. Expectations have a way of ruining a book for me. I build up a book and if it doesn't meet the standards I have already set, it disappoints me a lot more than if I'd known nothing about it. Unfortunately this is what happened with this book. For me this is mostly a story of star crossed lovers who happen to have their love set in a fantasy world. So its 'fantasy romance' so to speak. Son of Ereubus was just ok in my opinion. I liked some aspects of the worldbuilding - even if the characters could not really catch my interest. So I do not care much about what will happen to them in the next book. Why this book got so many five star ratings while there are books like the ones written by Brandon Sanderson out there - whose writing I like a lot more - that I can not understand.
