Horrible. Didnt finish.

Whats the deal with the cover? I am talking about the woman and her hellish tongue-cover. Is that supposed to be symbolic? She kissed Travis and got infested with his unholy STDS?

I didnt understand what made them find each other likable..there is no hint of it before they state it.

I read back to see if i missed something.Nope,just like that they are BFF-s.

3.5 stars. Told in first person through the eyes of the heroine Abby Abernathy, Beautiful Disaster chronicles the college freshman journey of two very young, emotional charged, highly idealistic but oh-so-clueless people trying to act like grown up lovers. I honestly did enjoy it, but I think I am just too old to really care about so much self inflicted angst. They were young with raw and unchecked emotions, too prideful to say what they really wanted to say, and loved those dramatic exit scenes 3.5 stars. They were young with raw and unchecked emotions, too prideful to say what they really wanted to say, and loved those dramatic exit scenes every single time they had a fight (which was OFTEN!) I'm glad I read it, but wont be searching out more books like it. In fact, I would probably avoid any book likened to this one.

The hero, Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox. Age 19 or 20?: A tortured and tattoo'd mega stud that all women want and all men fear, prefers brutal and violent solutions then using logic and clear thinking, gets straight As with little studying and lots of whiskey drinking, and suffers from severe OCD when it comes to Abby Abernathy:

He was the worst kind of confident. Not only was he shamelessly aware of his appeal, he was so used to women throwing themselves at him that he regarded my cool demeanor as refreshing instead of an insult.

His amazing communication skills shines through:

鈥淒on鈥檛 you fucking look at her. Look at me you spoiled shit stain.鈥� Parker focused on Travis鈥� eyes and waited. 鈥淚f you so much as breathe in her direction, I鈥檒l make sure you鈥檒l be limping through med school.鈥�

POW,POW,POW!!! Blood squirts everywhere!! POW, POW, POW!!! Repeat a few chapters later. (Yawn, that got old. And he never gets in the slightest trouble with the school or law? Yeah right.)

The heroine, Abby Abernathy (aka Pigeon) Age 19: She a good girl with a MYSTERIOUS past, she both loves and hates being the center of everyone's attention, gets PO'd really fast about anything and everything, and is desired by all men -- but only when she is with Travis.

First she cares what every one think...

I was certain the gossip had soared to a new level since Travis had kissed me in full view of everyone in our History class, and I dreaded walking out onto the stage the cafeteria presented.

Then she doesn't care what they think...

鈥淲e don鈥檛 care what they think, remember? You can鈥檛 start now,鈥� I said, smiling with confidence. I had more of an effect on him than I ever thought possible.

The she cares again...

鈥淵ou know that鈥檚 a bunch of bullshit, right? It鈥檚 not true.鈥�
鈥淚鈥檓 sure that鈥檚 what everyone is thinking,鈥� I grumbled, noting the interest of those walking by.
鈥淭hen I鈥檒l prove them wrong.鈥�

The endless fight, angst and drama. Oh, and plenty of PDA make up scenes! Here's just a sample:

鈥淧igeon,鈥� he said, taking a step toward me. 鈥淕et OUT!鈥� I said, grabbing the glass from the night stand and throwing it at him.

鈥淵ou鈥檙e going to have to tone down the jealous boyfriend-thing, Travis. I didn鈥檛 do anything wrong.鈥� Travis shot me an incredulous look. 鈥淚 walk up here, and some guy is buying you a drink!鈥�

鈥淚鈥檓 sorry, Pigeon, I didn鈥檛 know he had a hold of you.鈥�
鈥淵our fist was two inches from my face!鈥� I said, catching the oil-stained towel Shepley had thrown at me. I wiped the blood from my hand, revolted. The seriousness of the situation darkened his face and he winced.
鈥淚 wouldn鈥檛 have swung if I thought I could have hit you. You know that right?鈥�
鈥淪hut up, Travis. Just shut up,鈥� I said

鈥淲e鈥檙e leaving!鈥�
鈥淲hat?鈥� Finch yelled over the music.
鈥淭ravis is in a pissy mood! We鈥檙e leaving!鈥�

He nodded. 鈥淚鈥檒l do anything you want. Just鈥ell me you love me.鈥�
鈥淵ou know I do.鈥�
鈥淚 need to hear you say it,鈥� he said, his brows pulling together.
鈥淚 love you,鈥� I said, touching my lips to his. 鈥淣ow quit being such a baby.鈥�

鈥淲e are dysfunctional, Travis. I think you鈥檙e just obsessed with the thought of owning me more than anything else.鈥� 鈥淭hat鈥檚 not true. I love you more than my life, Pigeon,鈥� he said, hurt. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 exactly what I mean. That鈥檚 crazy talk.鈥�

The secondary characters seem to under stand what Travis and Abby do not:

"You two are a disaster.鈥�
I smiled at the ceiling. 鈥淚t doesn鈥檛 matter what or why it is. When it鈥檚 good, Kara鈥t鈥檚 beautiful.鈥�

鈥淚 wish you and Travis would just get your shit together! You鈥檙e a goddamn tornado! When you鈥檙e happy, it鈥檚 love and peace and butterflies. When you鈥檙e pissed, you take the whole fucking world down with you!鈥�

Well, it was good at times.

The beginning of something really beautiful! I loved the characters, the story, just everything about this story. Yeah, Travis drove me crazy at times but, then again, so did Pigeon!! I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this fab romance. I'm not usually one to read out of order -- but I couldn't resist reading "A Beautiful Wedding" and then I knew without a doubt I would be reading each of the "Beautiful" books and so it is. ...more

Isn鈥檛 Beautiful Disaster a little racy to be classified as Young Adult?

Yes, that is why it is classified as contemporary romance. Beautiful Disaster is 鈥渞ated鈥� by the author as mature for strong language and sexual content, and is recommended for ages 17+.

Beautiful Disaster was an emotional roller coaster ride of a book, and I completely loved it! It was full of teen angst, romance, and scorching passion. Although they both had plenty of quirks, I loved both Travis and Abby. The storyline captured my attention and held it throughout the book. I loved every second spent reading this book, and I am very impatiently awaiting the story as told from Travis' point of view.

I feel like this book warrants a review.... I read this not knowing it was supposed to be a young adult book and after the fact I am shocked. I would really hope that any teen reading this would not look to this book to set an example for what love is. This book is about a VERY dysfunctional and dangerous relationship. So I finally finished the book and I guess I sort of agree, Travis was a bit too far out there for me. Now I like a jealous hero but he was going over into wacko territory.

I鈥檓 also not much into 鈥渓ose鈥� men. That鈥檚 not a thrill to pull a guy whose given out his man parts like government cheese .

How you gonna be with two women at the same time in the living room while the woman you want to be your girlfriend sleeps in your bed.

For a man who was so in love, how come Travis didn鈥檛鈥渆at鈥�?

Okay..this is more like 3 1/2 stars I really enjoyed the beginning...then it kinda went all crazy! Travis is crazy but hot Abby is a walking contradiction...the title of the book definitely fits their story!
