What Members Thought

Saw this on the shelf at my library yesterday when I was browsing the audiobook selection, and used my Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ barcode app to scan it in from when I listened to it several months ago. I mostly enjoyed this, although I didn't love all the stories and I kept falling asleep on others as I listened (a hazard associated with listening to audiobooks at bedtime). Oh, Hans Christian Andersen. My favorite of favorites. I love this man. Since I was a little girl, I must have read "The Little Mermaid" a few dozen times. I was also familiar with (and loved) his "The Princess and the Pea," "The Little Match Girl," "Thumbelina," "The Ugly Duckling," and "The Red Shoes." Later it was "The Snow Queen" and "The Nightingale" and "The Steadfast Tin Soldier." Somewhere along the way I realized that Andersen was responsible for all of my favorite childhood stories.

There are a LOT of versions of Andersen's collected fairy tales - I had no idea when I first started on this. Kindle has it . Or try the same version . I may have miscounted but I think there are about 127 stories in this collection.
This should be interesting in that I've only read the very popular Andersen fairy tales, and not anything more. So most of these stories will be completely new to me. I'm also ready to pick this up and set it aside at times, because from what I r ...more

Many of the stories were familiar. Some were new to me. One new one that I particularly enjoyed was the Elder-Tree Mother.
