I found this story of Syrians trying to survive both moving and heartbreaking. I found the trauma, the day-to-day horrors overwhelming. But I enjoyed the story of love, family and hope in the midst of all the chaos. I don't read a lot of stories that take place in Syria or highlight their fight for freedom. I appreciated this unique approach to the story and PTSD. Great characters, interesting story, so glad I gave this one a try! ...more

It鈥檚 hard to believe such a beautiful, yet heart wrenching novel is Katouh鈥檚 debut. I would give it 10 stars if I could!!
