What an imaginative and unusual story! Two grown daughters who were abandoned by their mother five years earlier, decide to go in search of her to find answers about the reason she left them.
Each daughter has an unusual psychic gift. Finn can remember the memories of other people and Zadie has premonitions that she has struggled to keep under control. Once the girls set off in search of their mother, the girls find that their gifts are useful on their journey.

***2.5 rounded up to 3***
After finishing this, I’m honestly quite surprised this wasn’t classified as YA because it certainly felt like that from start to finish. The premise was unique and I was hoping for a fun book that would push me out of my comfort reading zone. DNF at 50%. A story about two psychic sisters searching for their missing mothers should be compelling this is not. There’s a lot of nothing happening, I don’t care about the characters, I REALLY don’t like Joel, and I don’t buy that they ran into Zadie’s ex-boyfriend at a random hotel while on a road trip. I read some spoilers and the explanation for Nora’s disappearance doesn’t sound very fulfilling.

This is a beautiful read for lovers of family dynamics and magical realism! If you don't mind a meandering storyline, this is good choice. It's a unique and creative story. Despite the plethora of magical realism elements, this is ultimately a story about the bond and relationship between sisters.
The sisters' varying personalities shone throughout the story. They were so many colorful characters to enjoy too, but sometimes they felt a bit fleeting in their development or as if they were there fo ...more
