Update. Just read in another review and I have to mention it. Shannon in this book is disturbingly 鈥渋nfantilized and sexualized鈥� and that is what I keep feeling the whole time, and couldn鈥檛 describe. She kept being portrayed as this tiny creature that can鈥檛 do anything on her own and falls at 邪 minor wind. But he keeps wanting to get in her pants鈥� gross this was gross!

I got to say, I can see why a lot of people enjoy this book. While it is really long(way too long for the romance imo) it has a Update. Just read in another review and I have to mention it. I got to say, I can see why a lot of people enjoy this book. While it is really long(way too long for the romance imo) it has a very engaging and easy writing style that doesn鈥檛 feel overwhelming and like you are drowning in pages. It goes by pretty fast. If I wasn鈥檛 on vacation I would have probably be done with it in 2-3 days. It has a decent story considering it鈥檚 basically a high school romance, the characters are fairly well written. My issue here, and also why I didn鈥檛 absolutely love it, and it is just me personally, I don鈥檛 like girls like Shannon. I have hard time reading about and enjoying such weak personality females. Yes she had a very hard life, but she acts like she had absolutely given up, she has no fight in her, she is just meh. I always wonder with stories like that, what exactly is there in her except her looks, and I want to touch up on that as well, she apparently hasn鈥檛 had her period by 15 she is described as a literally prepubescent and tiny. Yet Johnny does see and talks about her in a way that makes this sound very strange. She does not magically grow overnight. But I digress, I wonder what he sees in her period? She has literally zero personality, she just blushes, apologizes and runs away鈥� and he is not the guy who obviously lacks female attention鈥� this is clearly written in an extremely unrealistic way, in reality a girl like that, he won鈥檛 even look at her twice鈥�.
Now I am curios where this is going to go and I do enjoy the writing, but I, for some reason have no desire to read Joey鈥檚 book, but I do really want to read Gibsies and Claire鈥檚. They seem to be very interesting, and Claire is the kind of girl who I would enjoy reading about. ...more

OMWord, I at one point hated this book. Then something would FINALLY happen and I would like it. The biggest problem with this book is it was over 600 pages and it easily could have been 300 pages. It took 3 to 4 pages in each chapter repeating themselves. I liked Johnny just fine. I liked his protective nature over Shannon.

Shannon however had a tendency to get on my nerves but I understand why. I know she was tormented most of her life with bullies at her school so bad she was hospitalized from ...more

Unpopular opinion porque me ha parecido muy meh y pasable. Adem谩s, se me ha hecho largu铆simo y muy repetitivo a veces y no he sentido la supuesta historia de amor. BUT, el final me ha hecho llorar y como tengo un toc con estas cosas, supongo que tendr茅 que leer el 2潞 en alg煤n momento para ver como acaba este dram贸n.
