Well before reading this story, I thought it was a stretch. However, this author squashed my doubts and created a devilishly sexy, swoon worthy, alien hero. Me encantan las relaciones amor-odio. Ahora todos los protagonistas son unos melosos, pero aqu铆 no vemos eso. Me divert铆, me exaspere con ellos y no pude dejar de leer.

I really dont know what to say about this book. It totally amazed me for the fact that i didnt expected to like it so freaking much!

It is very common that i like reading Young Adults books but the spesific one totally hook me for alot various things even that there was not really any action at least to 70% of it (not untill the middle till the end actually) there are other things that made me loved the book!

First is Jennifer L. Armentrout writing (I love the fact i discover her via twitter and t I really dont know what to say about this book. It totally amazed me for the fact that i didnt expected to like it so freaking much!

Armentrout writing (I love the fact i discover her via twitter and then i came here to dig her books) I love LOOOVEEEE when there is humour in books and in this its really hillarious (ofcource with the good way) And second the development in characters and relationships till the main actions comes in lead..

As i assume everyone is commenting about Katty/Daemon relationship... Which to me was awesome and fun to read. I mean they both are the most stuborn characters i have ever met both from both sides.

I have a love/hate relationship with Daemon at first i really did think as well that he was arrogant,shelfish jerk but in the next minute and chapter i was really taken by suprice how sweet and caring and lovely he was but then i switch again lol Jennifer L. Armentrout really did a great move by adding the cold/hot parts with Daemon because she really did add something very interesting to Daemon character and how complex his character is.. If it wasnt the teasers part in the end from Daemon POV i will still think he is such an arrogant bastard which i would love to punch him and then kiss him and then punch him again lol xD

I just wanted to say Kudos as well to the other characters : Dee was such an awesome character to read i would loved to have a best friend like her... And believe it or not i even fond Ash too ALOT she is such a badass and i suspect she will cause many problems in the future

I am not really sure when the second book is coming but seeing that there is a pre book about Dawson, and Bethany story it will be really interesting to see how Daemon was before the today's arrogant jerk he is now...

Over all i cant wait for #0,5 and for #2 as well ...more

Most of you probably already know my obsession with this Lux series (or any of Jennifer's books for that matter) and if not, have you been living under a rock?? I think EVERYONE have heard of this AMAZING (uh yeah that's an understatement) series. I read this back in December, and obviously it's nearly June so forgive me if I miss really important teeny tiny bits :P I had such a hard time to actually start this review (surprise surprise) so I thought WHY NOT START WITH THE MEGA HOT DAEMON? You've ALL heard of Mr. Black. The sexy, douchebag and swoon-worthy asshole. Who you just can't help but love. *Sigh*. If only there were guys like Daemon in my school. I could write a whole fucking page about him, but that seriously would take FOREVER. So, if you enjoy bad buys and guys poking you in the back with a damn pen, then no doubt you'll fall in love as much as I did with Daemon. *Fans self* Oh god, now I REALLY want to re-read that laptop scene ;)

If I can describe this whole book in one word? Sexy. Yup, you heard me. This book is brimming with sexual tension so thick you can cut it with a knife. No, seriously. The fighting and the bickering seriously added SOME very humorous laughs, and the witty dialogue had me laughing and giggling like a silly schoolgirl. Uh, yeah I AM a schoolgirl. (Well, until this week hehe.)

Ya'll know that I basically despise half of the female YA protagonists and heroines out there. So, you can understand why I was a bit wary and skeptical about Kat at first. Think she's the whiny, needy type? Think again you loser. Kat is seriously right at the top with Celaena (Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Maas) and Tris (Divergent - Veronica Roth) being as my Top Three Favourite Girls.And you know how I'm so picky with the girls and how I'm going to seriously stab someone if they WHINE WHINE AND MORE WHINE AND if their lives SUDDENLY revolve around their sparkly boyfriend. Meh.

I'm BIG on character development, and I personally prefer to have very engaging and interesting characters rather than a complex plot, so I was more than thrilled when Obsidian, being the first book of the series (first out of five books) was focused more on Katy and Daemon's relationship, and all about setting up the story arc and the plot for the rest of the series. Now, that doesn't mean it's full of boring descriptions and histories and whatnot. It's equally addicting, compelling and breathtaking. And it's all down to Jennifer's writing. SO FREAKING JEALOUS. I love her really.

So. Have I convinced you to buy and read Obsidian? Yes? I love you. No? Well, I think you're crazy.

I have a feeling I'm totally going to throttle someone if the second attachment doesn't come out soon. Possibly my boyfriend. It's all his fault, I don't know why or how, but it usually is. I NEED MORE.
I like the tension between Daemon e Katy. I love Dee, totally, she's so much of my BF, it's scary. I like the whole alien thing, too. I like the whole of it. It was an awesome read. Maybe not the best in these last months, or in the next ones, but it was fantastic. I like sci-fi, I'm totally nuts ...more

Easily my favorite book so far of 2012.

I loved this book. I usually don't write reviews, but I had to with this book/series.In trying to convince a few friends to read this book one of them pointed out that some reviews here at 欧宝娱乐 compared the male lead, Daemon, to Edward Cullen. Which makes me thing that the people who put that in their reviewss are either a- ridiculously non-literate, b- have only ever read the TWL series and then this one, or c- need medication. Wow, incredible book. I loved every minute of it. Jennifer did an amazing job with every detail of this story. When I first heard about it my first thought was, really aliens? don't like already but boy was I wrong.

"wow aliens!"

This the 1st time I read about aliens.
And what can I say I love it!
When I was young I love the x-files and the x files was a hit.
I never believe that aliens ever exist but, if they are like daemon and how he was described with the alien moos and being a ball of light then, aliens can exist. Il I've how the author described the aliens and I love how she imagined them.

The plot was so cool!
And I love every word, letter. Sentence of it.

When I first heard about Obsidian, a lot of people have been raving about how amazing the book was and how much they loved Daemon. So, I did a little research on the book and then I instantly became hooked because of the book was about aliens. Though, I was a bit worried that the book was only written in eight days since the first thing that came through my mind was, "It couldn't be that good since it was written in such a short amount of time," but I was completely wrong.

Now I know what all the When I first heard about Obsidian, a lot of people have been raving about how amazing the book was and how much they loved Daemon. So, I did a little research on the book and then I instantly became hooked because of the book was about aliens. Though, I was a bit worried that the book was only written in eight days since the first thing that came through my mind was, "It couldn't be that good since it was written in such a short amount of time," but I was completely wrong.

Now I know what all the buzz is about Daemon. In the beginning, I was a bit skeptical on how Daemon's character would end up in the book. At first, he comes out aggressive, arrogant, smug and town bad boy, it was a shock at the end of the book for me. Don't get me wrong, I loved him ALL the way through but at the end...(insert dreamy sigh here) I just can't get enough of Daemon! And to make him even more irresistible, the instant connection, even though violent, that Daemon and Katy have. Just how they both clash and aim teeth and nails at each other is very quite amusing.

Anywho, this book was gripping, heart stopping, squeal worthy, and intense! There are not many YA books that have anything to do with Sci-Fi and when I read Obsidian I was astonished and overwhelmed. First of all, I adored Katy and her mother. Moving to West Virginia after three years of trying to live a normal life in Florida after her dad died, the one thing she loves to do is gardening. Mustering up the courage to meet her neighbours to ask where the nearest gardening store was, Katy didn't expect Daemon. 鈥淏eautiful face. Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys.鈥� Though, something seems odd about the way they move, how they talk, act, seeming to keep to themselves and how everyone in town stays away from them. Many explanations run through Katy's mind but it was one that she least expected.

Daemon was an Alien.

Or, a Luxen to be more precise. After almost dying countless times and seeing things that weren't supposed to happen, Katy can't do anything but believe that he was an alien.

Besides the amazing writing and characters, what definitely stood out was the romance. Daemon and Katy's relationship was an up and down one. Not like a high school crush. Daemon and Katy can't stand each other. Being in the same room complies too many negative energy between them. It was appealing in the emotional atmosphere it creates. The relationship between them was refreshing. The dance between them is well balanced and defined in a professional way. Jennifer has an art for writing.

All in all, Obsidian was intense and fierce and also addictive. A hot, intriguing boy, a strong, female character that loves to blog, both equate to a book that has earned five stars. (Even more if I could) ...more

LOVE:

LOVE:
I was just on the first chapter and I was already laughing the life out of me. Only Jennifer Armentrout can do that. This book was unbelievably addicting. Usually, I finish a book in one day. I have other things to do that I consider more important. But I finished this book in 5 hours straight. I just could not let go of it. At that time, Daemon and Katy became the center of my world. Their banter is just so funny and witty and sarcastic, that I just can't get enough. And hours after I finished the book, I find myself thinking (or swooning, even) about a certain alien with hypnotic green eyes. There's not much kissing in this book - a few scenes. But the sexual tension between the main characters is undeniable. Their chemistry is sizzling even when they are fighting and shouting at each other. I also love the fact that Daemon is very protective of Dee (Daemon's sister). Dee is the only one he has in his life, and he would gladly give up his life to protect her. I love Dee too! She's friendly and bubbly, and it's not a surprise that she instantly became Katy's best friend. I also love the whole "alien marking" thing, and something new to me and I want to know more about it.

NO LOVE:
Daemon - that obnoxious a$$hole. I hated him most of the time. He was mean to Katy. But then again, I love him for it. Am I confusing you now?

FAVORITE CHARACTER:
My letter to the hottest alien on earth: Dear Daemon, Oh Daemon! I don't know what I feel about you. Sometimes I dislike you, sometimes I like you. But most of the time I despise you. But then you smile your sexy smile and you walk around half naked and let me ogle at your sculpted body, and my anger just... fades away. You charm me with sarcasm. You protect me with your life.You exhaust me, and I love you for it. I'm yours. Always and forever, JoAnne

MUSINGS:

It鈥檚 the summer before Katy鈥檚 senior year and her mom decides it is time to start over. Her dad died 3 years ago and her mom has never been the same, so maybe this move is a good thing. They head to West Virginia to a town that has a grand total of one stop light. Katy is trying to stay positive and when she sees her new neighbor she thinks that maybe the move might not be so bad after all, until she actually talks to him. Daemon is a total jerk!!!! Soon Katy finds out that the twins are aliens from a plant called Lux. Because Dee wants Daemon and Katy to get along she forces them to hang out more often which turns into a disaster and leaves Katy marked. Being marked by a Luxen is never a good thing for a human. It basically turns them into a light beam that attracts any nearby Arum. Arum are the alien arch enemies of the Luxen. They have no respect for human life and will kill them for the fun of it. They are always looking for the luxens, so they can drain their power from them. If you happen to be an unlucky human who has been marked and an Arum finds you they will torture you to try and get the location of the Luxen that marked you. So now it isn't safe for Katy to be alone, and Daemon feels that it is his responsibility to protect her till the mark fade which could be weeks. Great now Katy is stuck with the insufferable, but totally hot Daemon Black.

This book was so much fun to read. The love/hate relationship between Daemon and Katy is fun and entertaining. Katy has tons of spice and attitude. She totally holds her own against the drop dead gorgeous Daemon. She is easy to like and I connected with her instantly. Another fun tidbit about Katy is that she is an avid reader and a book blogger :)!!! I totally loved her character and thought she made the perfect heroine!!!

Daemon is one of those guys that you wish you could stare at (or read about) all day long. He has killer green eyes, wavy black hair and a great body to go with his smokin looks! e also has a wonderful attitude to add to the whole package, but at the same time he does have some very endearing qualities as well. He is so devoted to his sister and would do anything for her, even be nice to Katy. Katy and Daemons relationship is so full of tension and attraction it totally draws you in. Daemon is so hot and cold that you actually feel frustrated for poor Katy.

Suffice to say I loved this book. The plot was action packed and really intriguing The relationships were well developed and so fun. The characters had attitude and great personalities. Jennifer did such an amazing job. This was my first alien book and I will defiantly be reading more if they are anything like this! If you haven't read anything by Jennifer Armentrout yet I would highly recommend you start I have loved all of her books so far. Obsidian is just one of those books that you can't put down and when you are finished you keep thinking about it for days!!! ...more
