Re-reading this in original language because I can't grasp the excitement without feeling I've missed something serious (initially read an unfortunate German translation). After "Klara and the Sun", I'm inclined to trust my past self on this one, but people change, values change, tastes change, and we grow, so maybe this time, I'll get it. (01.02.2023)

Could anyone explain to me the meaning of the incident with the chicken he almost ran over?!...
So far, this episode has basically been this book to me in a nutshell. I even started wondering if the German translation was not the best version to choose, and that is not a good sign. For whichever reason, the writing exhausts me, the dialogue is definitely not funny to me and a plot is hardly to be seen a third into the book.
Possibly a mistake to pick it up right after finishing a Julian Barnes, b ...more
