I really enjoyed this autobiography of Ruth Park's. For one thing, I learnt that she not Australian but actually Kiwi. What a remarkable childhood she experienced in the wild country of NZ and the subsequent years of war and Depression. Amazing book. I'm looking forward to reading part 2 which is ready & waiting on my bedside table. ...more

Discovered this beauty at an op shop and thought it was worth a look. Fabulous hearing how the depression shaped her family and moving forward to being encouraged to write.
