Daylight Again (Hell or High Water, #3) in Ask SE Jakes

I think what I take away most from this series is how utterly lovable Prophet and Tommy are and how I want the best for them, and for them to always be safe. How with each book, after the last page, I sit back with a sigh.

OK, so in this third novel, Tommy and Prophet are established and living together, although the three word phrase hasn鈥檛 left either of their mouths. There is still the hunt for John, Prophet鈥檚 ex-lover and former team member, but there is also this idea of what comes next? And I think what I take away most from this series is how utterly lovable Prophet and Tommy are and how I want the best for them, and for them to always be safe. How with each book, after the last page, I sit back with a sigh.

OK, so in this third novel, Tommy and Prophet are established and living together, although the three word phrase hasn鈥檛 left either of their mouths. There is still the hunt for John, Prophet鈥檚 ex-lover and former team member, but there is also this idea of what comes next? And not just minute by minute or day to day, but what does the future hold for them as individuals and as partners.

What we see in Daylight Again is that each of them wants the other to be happy and to feel protected. They want the other to know that no matter what path they choose or hiccup they face, that they stand beside them. And those moments where they reveal their weaknesses in order to bring their strengths to the forefront were beautiful and made me grin all stupid.

Prophet has left working for John and can only thinking about losing his sight in the very near future, and Tommy has the faintest idea of opening up a tattoo shop once he can get settled and away from dangerous missions. I LOVED when Prophet really got that Tommy was there for him, when he realized that even when his sight was gone he鈥檇 always have his other senses map out the man he loved before him. Also, Prophet drunk is so cute, I die. I know I called him cute, but the man and his umbrella drinks really are adorable.

In addition to Tommy and Prophet, though, the reader gets insight into the other team members and of Cillian. I鈥檓 just going to say it: I want douse myself in oil and have Mal and Cillian use me as a Slip N鈥� Slide. I lurve them, and when they surrender it鈥檚 going to be so delicious. The reader learns about Mal鈥檚 need for pain, and just how much Prophet views him and Tommy, and how secrets between friends can affect numerous relationships.

There are a lot of locations in Daylight Again in multiple countries, with several characters, missions, goals, and revelations. However, for the most part, I read this series for the Tommy and Prophet moments and all the sex and swoon moments I can get. I adore these two, and I can鈥檛 wait for their conclusion, although it makes me sad at the same time. Also, I want to know FINALLY about all of this John business.

Oh and Tommy saying 鈥�叠茅产茅鈥� and 鈥�Lije鈥� are the best things ever. Ever.

The gang's all here in this book. That alone is worth rejoicing, if you are into the complicated characters that grace the pages of anything written by S.E.Jakes.

Prophet and Tom are drawn into a clandestine mission which brings the members of Prophet's old SEAL team together. Now Prophet hopes to put old ghosts to rest, while eliminating Sadiq and John. Daylight Again is the third book in the continuing story of one of my favorite romantic couples: Tommy Boudreaux and Prophet Drews. As the main characters in the Hell or High Water series, their story is shared over the course of the entire series and therefore, the books should be read sequentially for maximum impact and enjoyment.

The third story opens with Proph having another of his intense flashbacks, however, this time we learn about the time he was captured and tortured by the CIA. The third story opens with Proph having another of his intense flashbacks, however, this time we learn about the time he was captured and tortured by the CIA. Unfortunately it is just as bad, if not worse, than what happened to him when captured by the terrorist Azar. As the pieces of Proph鈥檚 past start to fall in place, Tommy, and the reader, begins to get the whole picture of what makes Prophet the man he is.

Daylight Again is such an amazing story for those who have been with the couple since the first book. Prophet finally lets Tommy into his life鈥� all the way in. Not only is the pair living together, but Prophet introduces Tom to his team and asks him to join them on a mission to save a buddy who has been kidnapped. The author has done an amazing job over the course of the series building up these two men and developing their characters with the perfect amount of backstory, trials, and tribulation, that the trust is completely justified, natural, and necessary at this juncture of the story. The bond that has formed between the pair is so true that I want to be part of it. And it is because of the bonds created that the author can take this pair to that place where each is at his most vulnerable, yet completely safe.

In addition, because of Tom鈥檚 attention, affection, and dare I say love, Prophet is finally able to admit out loud that John is probably alive and the head of a terrorist cell. While this news isn鈥檛 new for those that read the spinoff novella, Dirty Deeds, which I feel should be read as part of this series, it is the first time we read about it coming from Prophet. I admire how Tom鈥檚 belief in Proph cannot be shaken. I also love how each has learned when to give space and when to push.

The team is getting closer to Sadiq, the terrorist introduced in the first book. In addition, clues are coming in as to whether or not John is still alive. There is significant forward movement in the overall story arc, and while there is still story left to go, I feel the author does a great job giving the reader real meat and providing excellent balance between gains and losses. In addition, the tides have really turned with Prophet and Cillian. The root of the mistrust develops in Dirty Deeds, which is another reason why I feel one should read it. Proph knows Cillian did something to Mal and is angry. He doesn鈥檛 have room for Cillian in his life any longer, and I鈥檓 glad that this distraction is gone from Proph and Tom鈥檚 relationship.

Daylight Again is such a wonderful story, particularly for those who have read the entire series. I loved the intensity found throughout the book - in the high octane action, the mystery and suspense, and the emotional love story. Tom and Prophet are such an amazing couple because the pair continues to grow, learn, accept, and commit. Plus, the book ends with a little bit of a jolt that has me excited and primed for the next story. I highly encourage readers to pick up the Hell or High Water series!

This series is one of the best I have read. Prophet and Tom are a force to be reckoned with. The showdown is coming and the two of them are going to be in a fight for their lives. I look forward to the final book in this series.
