This is the third book in this awesome series and just so you know, they can not be read as stand alones !! They need to be read in order, or you won't know what the hell is going on.听

Let me start by saying that I loved every single character in this book...even the ones I hated (I am looking at you John and Cillian ;p). Well maybe I didn't really hate Cillian, but he did annoy the hell out of me in this one.听

I'm sure I will not say what already has not been said about this book and pretty much will corroborate and regurgitate what everyone else who loved this book has said.

And that's because they were all right! This book was so different than the first two because it focused more on the relationship between Prophet and Tom and them expressing their feelings and working out their issues than everything else that is going on. Sure, there were still a lot of ou 鈽呪槄鈽呪槄鈽� 5 Look-at-all-the-Feelz Stars 鈽呪槄鈽呪槄鈽�

I'm sure I will not say what already has not been said about this book and pretty much will corroborate and regurgitate what everyone else who loved this book has said.

And that's because they were all right! This book was so different than the first two because it focused more on the relationship between Prophet and Tom and them expressing their feelings and working out their issues than everything else that is going on. Sure, there were still a lot of outside factors that they had to deal with, like John hanging over their heads and terrorists coming after them (you know...the usual), but the main focal point was Proph and Tommy's relationship. Which for me was, of course, a total WIN!

It was so amazing seeing how far our boys have come and seeing them admit their feelings and realizing that they need each other, that all that matters is them two.

"Don't fuck with me, King," Tom hissed. "I'm in this. I'm more invested than you'll ever know. I get what I'm walking into. And I'm willing to keep walking. But I'm done justifying my existence."

"What if I'd never found you, Proph? Where the fuck would I be?"
"But I'm here, Tom. You did."
"We both came so damned close to not being here...No matter what, I'd never regret this."
"Me neither, Tommy."

There was something so satisfying about them reaffirming their need for one another and letting the other know that neither is going anywhere, no matter what, when we really did not get that in the first two books because so many other people and events were getting in the way of these two.

"...I forced myself to deal with it. To use my other senses. Because I knew, one day, that'd be all I have."
...Tom backed up to look at him, and Prophet didn't let go of his wrist. "I know you accept this, Tom. For now. But there's going to come a time--"
"Shut the fuck up."
"Now that I want to talk, I can't?"
"That's right. Because you're wrong."

"We'll get there, Proph. Not always going to be smooth sailing. Gotta tell you shit you don't want to hear and vice versa. Or else we've got nothing. And I know we don't have nothing."
"We have a hell of a lot, Tommy."
"And we'll have more when this is over."

Our boys still have so many obstacles in their path and so much that will get thrown at them (since, you know, that's how S.E. rolls...), but you know everything will work out in the end because they have each other, and they'll "...come out the other side together." All I can say is that I am enjoying the ride and Proph and Tommy's journey and will definitely be together with them on the other side.

This doesn't disappoint, SE Jakes continues to manage to tell the story of two tough men, trying to get to grips with their pasts, while battling with what will shape their future; the hunt for Prophet's rogue team-mate, his failing eye-sight, the little family he and Tommy are building (I hope) with Remmy. SE does a great job, rolling the plot along with well researched action and then hitting you with an terrific sex scene to make you hot and bothered or a tender moment that makes even the but ...more

What can I say? Totally brilliant and I'm a bit crap at these review things. But I had to work today - and it was as much as I could do not to end my 1 o'clock news bulletin with "It's 5 past 1 - and I'm now off to re-read "Daylight Again" by SE Jakes - if you're not in to her....WHY NOT?"
But I chickened out - sorry, SE,love you - let you down....... but it took me 7 years to get this gig! To make up - I've pre-ordered the new book "Running Wild".
This is a great review - sums up what I can't put ...more
