“Most people grow out of fairy stories, he said. “Why did you carry on believing, when the rest of the world did not?
“What is the point of life if you don’t believe in anything? she asked instead.

My review
“Knowledge always has the potential to be dangerous. It is a more powerful weapon than any sword or spell.
Well, there has been a respectable amount of hype surrounding this book lately and I really expected something to renew my faith in YA fantasy, since I couldn’t satisfy myself with anything that wasn’t on a Cruel Prince level. When I think about it, the Sorcery of Thorns had a pretty promising beginning, but halfway through I was dying of boredom and really couldn’t see anything ...more

I honestly don't know how to start that review.
The first half of the book felt like a 5 stars.
Then the second part had my eyes roll so many time that it felt like a 4 stars or maybe even a 3,5.
So I loved the magic system. There is some kind of "wall" between the Librarians and the Sorcerers and I really loved that. The Sorcerers are seen as bad people because in order to get magic they have to make a deal with a demon. Which actually sounds like a bad think haha

I was not able to connect to the characters.. Specially Nathaniel... I couldn't feel the chemistry.
The book had everything to be good, the setting, the grimories were my favorite part.. But the characters lacked development in my opinion.. ...more

i wasn’t expecting to love this book, i thought it was gonna be a 3 stars but there just isn’t enough that i like about it. i loved silas and the idea of the grimoires is really cool, i felt a trace of black butler in there with all the demon servants. all the rest is just your basic ya fantasy with a bland main character and “witty hot and cold mysterious love interest with black hair. that being said i didn’t hate it but it just wasn’t that great, i had a fun time laughing at the cliches
