What I hate most about this book is that I can't review this book without giving away some spoilers!
I will say I could not have predicted what happened. She surprised (and I will say it... made a little mad) with how she ended the series. She did what only a few authors have done for me and that is leave me speechless. Kudos to her for that.

I liked the first book, was annoyed by parts of the second book and actively disliked this book.

I was put off by the ending of the second book, where the reveal happened. I instantly knew where the rest of the story was going and knew that it had been done many times before. I hoped that I would be wrong, but I wasn't. It is a retelling of an overdone idea...and this one was not well written at all.

First I must note that I wasn鈥檛 one of those who raved about Divergent when it was released few years ago. I didn鈥檛 hate it but I didn鈥檛 love it either. It was a pretty average read for me... a quick & easy read that didn鈥檛 really encourage me to pick up the second book. It took some time for me to get to Insurgent though the ending of that book made me really excited for the next installment.

Allegiant is another quick & easy read 鈥揺asy to put down and pick up wherever you left off too. Being the type of reader I am though, I finished it in no time at all even when I didn鈥檛 skim (I think this is an easy book to just skim through if you鈥檙e curious about the ending but don鈥檛 want to read all of the book). I am settling for another average rating for this book because...

1. There seems to be some sort of formula with this trilogies:
Displacement 鉁�
Dishonest Leaders 鉁� (um, what does this say about our own political leaders?
Rebellion 鉁�
Tris wanting to do something different or more than the rebels 鉁�
Etc...

2. I actually didn鈥檛 mind the ending which I think where most fans will / had complained about. Although I did find that particular incident to be just too anticlimactic. It didn鈥檛 provoke any sort of reaction whatsoever 鈥揑 just shrugged my shoulders and went on with the read...

3. I might have read this part (between the lines) incorrectly but I thought there was some sort of 鈥榟int鈥� as to what the password is to get into that room but it wasn鈥檛 even thought of, afterwards?

In summary, I鈥檓 not totally keen on Allegiant but... I did manage to read the whole book without any attempts to chuck it at the wall so I figure this would rate as pretty average for me.

I re-read Divergent with a little more excitement (um, hello, Theo James!!, Can you blame me?!) just prior to the release of the movie but it was still not one I loved completely. And when I finally picked up Allegiant, it was because I needed a break in between some serious adult historical fiction novels I鈥檝e been reading. It鈥檚 done its trick and now, I just want to see more of Theo James... ...more

This book was disappointing compared to the first in the series. I loved the first book, but only thought the following books were okay. I knew what the ending would be when I started reading the final book, so I wasn't disappointed or shocked. I am not entirely sure what it was about the second and third book that made them so lacking. Overall it was a good series.
