What Members Thought

David Levithan's books are beginning to me to seem a bit formulaic. While I've really liked some of them, others don't do a lot for me, and this is one of the latter. It's a story of two teenage boys who are determined to break the record for the longest kiss, and several other gay teen boys are introduced as well, so alternate sections deal with what is happening with each of them as the long kiss continues.

This book will not be for everyone, but I thought it was well done. I like this author alot. Here are some of my favorite quotes from the book:

The main story is cute - two boys trying to break the world record for the longest kiss. There's a "Greek chorus" of AIDS ghost voices which was totally unexpected for me, but very powerful.

There is a plethora of LGBT fiction. This is interesting because of it narrative told from the spirits of past LGBT people and those currently struggling with the designation. It does not however carry the impact of other LGBT fiction. it is readable but not memorable for me
