This was heartbreaking story. It took me rather long from start to finish because I could only read it in small parts, the ache in my heart would get so strong that each time it would make me have pause.
This is not a happy book at all. I knew that going in, but somehow that didn't make it any easier. Patrick Ness really makes you care about his characters. This was beautifully written and very powerful - sad, gut-wrenching, and powerful.

This book was emotionally manipulative. This book had some big eye-rolling cliches. However, I still pretty much read it one day and ended with ugly crying, so that takes some talented writing abilities.

Amazing and heart wrenching. I read this as my daughter wanted to also read it. So glad I did so I am prepared for difficult questions that may arise. The author did the subject matter justice.
I picked this book up because of the jacket picture. You can judge a book by it's cover. What a tender story like no other. It will be a favorite of mine forever. Do yourself a favor, read this wonderful story asap.

Sometimes we "know" things before we know them.
What a powerful, brilliant, and well-told tale this was.
I could see where this story was going but it still "grabbed" me at the end so I knew I was in the hands of a very skillful writer.

This wrecked me. It was so much more and so much better than I was expecting. So, so good.
