I was rather pleasantly surprised by this book (I admit I only bought it because of the cover and title and that doesn't usually end well...). The story itself is a little flimsy but it is carried through by the characters both human and otherwise as the try to control Catch, a demon with an immense appetite for eating people (loved the opening scenes with the Breeze). As other reviewers have pointed out, this book was heavy on characters. But rather than feeling lost, I felt sucked into the stories of the people of Pine Cove and was completely taken with Moore's writing style. Since most readers seem to agree that this isn't his best book, I'll definitely look for other books by this author. Humorous and light reading, recommended for late nights, travel, and other times of low concentration and frequent interruption.

This was okay. Its typical of about half of Moore's work (at least that I have read so far). It was funny, I guess, though not really my taste.
Crass and not really that exciting. (Sorry, this is just one woman's take).
I MUCH preferred his Vampire books (Bloodsucking Fiends, You Suck, & Bite Me). I also liked Lamb and the one with the baby.
