more like 3.5 but rounding up - review to follow...liked the story for the most part - audiobook narration left a lot to be desired

This was a bit more complicated than a run-of-the-mill mystery, and was set against the backdrop of WWI and how it affected the British populace. I really liked it.
One aspect of the writing I wasn't thrilled with was the structure. I had gotten involved in the 1920's part of the story in the first section, and it was rather frustrating when the second section was a flashback to Maisie's time before and during WWI. I really enjoyed this although i was annoyed by the trip back to the war, I felt it was totally unnecessary in a book meant to be about private investigations. It didn't really add to the storyline and could all have been covered by a couple of short paragraphs. However i might well follow this series

The time jumps in this were odd. The "mystery" was, well non existent. The MC was pleasant enough but I'm not sure compelling enough to continue the series.
