Sad Cypress is a lesser known work by Christie but it's one of my favorites. The denouement is simply incredible. This is also the author's only courtroom drama in this series - you can tell how she liked to try different stuff.
One of the very sad things about this book is that unlike most of Dame Agatha's victims, who are nasty enough that you don't mind when they get bumped off, poor Mary was a very nice person. She's already dead by the time the book starts but it's still incredibly sad.

Well that didn't quite end the way I thought it would. As I was reading, I had the impression that I've read it before and was quite sure of the ending but maybe, I was carried away by my previous conviction because the ending just isn't as clear cut / cleanly finished as others. But it was definitely a tense read; a riveting read.
