A long time ago, this author was my O/H's English Literature teacher, so was suprised when a friend bought me this...
I thought it was pretty good, overall. Evocative, and Achilles is obviously half immortal, and so he makes sense, as he doesn't, in attempts to humanise him. He's a hawk-faced giant, as in the Ancient Greek depictions.
Priam has a distant relationship with Hector and his sons, but that is realistic.
I was glad that the relationship between Achilles and Briseis wasn't romanticised or ...more
