This book was only average. I liked the characters. The main character was likeable. Cameron, is diagnosed with Mad Cow disease. I thought that was weird because they never explained how he got it. The only reason I could come up with was because he worked at a burger place. So he gets hospitalized and he goes out on a quest to find a cure because a punk rock, guardian angel named Dulcie tells him to go. This is probably one of the strangest books I've ever read. I would only give it 3 stars because it got kind of long in the middle and I didn't care for the "language", but I did like the originality, the theme, and the writing style so I bumped it up to a 4. It's a combination of realistic-fiction-fantasy. It's both funny and sad. I have to say I liked it.

this is so hilarious. it's just the kind of YA i love-- unapologetic and truthful to what it's like to be a teenager, seriously bizarre and unpredictable, and with a truly satisfying ending. cameron is one of my favorite YA protagonists, and i love his story so much.
