What Members Thought
Not quite as endearing as Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, but still an engaging, quirky little book. This is a lighthearted novel that should have broad appeal. It came in second place in my community's "one read" competition, where the library designates a book as one that everyone should read and schedules a bunch of events. (NB: They picked Nomadland instead.)

Lois Clary is a software programmer who is getting burned out on her job when she is given a stranger sourdough starter by two Mazag brothers leaving the country. Lois soon begins making bread, first as a sideline then full time. The bread bakes faces into itself and the starter does strange things during the night. This book was very weird. Super quirky! Now to research making my own sourdough. Looking forward to hearing the author speak at our all county reads event in April!
It's hard to describe a book as cheerful, but that's what I felt reading this book some I'm going with it.
