I love science fiction books that make you think, I love any book that makes you think.
Makes you think of your own humanity and mortality.

This book traces the story of a space exploration team as they visit four distant planets and go about the business of learning more about the planets and the life forms on those planets. For me, it's the interactions between the crew members that kept the story interesting. I got bored reading about the science and wasn't all that interested in the life forms they discovered. As someone who studied evolutionary biology, I found the science in the book very realistic and refreshing. I found myself sharing the enthusiasm of the group of explorers as they made their discoveries. The characters were all unique and interesting and they were easy to route for. The plot is a bit thin if you are not interested in the science aspects and the experience of astronauts in space, but that did not bother me at all. I am looking forward to getting to Chamber's longer books. ...more
