The first half of this book blew me away. It was my first foray into Toni Morrison (I have since read 3 or 4 other books and intend to read everything) but the second act fell flat for me. The women are so memorably written and I loved them so much. Milkman left something to be desired and the ending was confusing. I'm really glad my book club read this book because it led me to Beloved, which is probably my favorite book, ever. ...more
