Nadia is upset when her 84 year old widowed father decides to marry Valentina a 36 year old from Ukraine. Nadia must work with her estranged sister to try to get Valentina out of their fathers life. there was a lot of humor involving the father's situation but also some pathos involving their fathers loneliness. I don't really understand why the tractor parts had to be in the book. I found them boring and that they didn't really connect to the rest of the story.

I was a bit disappointed with this. It started off well and promised good things and didn't quite live up to them. Not really 4 stars but better than 3 stars.

This was a strange little book. I read it because I live in an area with a huge older Ukranian population and could see the father in many of the people in my area.
I was intrigued by the relationship between the sisters, too~a love-hate thing.
The title was a bit strange. I think she would have done better to name it something else.

On the surface this book is about two women trying to pry their aged father from the grips of a 36 year old gold digger but it's also about family, loyality, secrets, and forgiveness. I really liked the way the Ukrainian history was woven throughout the book. Good mix of humor and sadness.

There were some interesting characters in this book, although none of them were particularly likeable. The tractor paragraphs didn't really move the story on at all, but I guess I learned something new.
