I enjoyed this first book in the series. There's more than one nasty piece of work in this, not all of whom get their just comeuppance, but I do like the main characters, Erica & Patrik.

Erica is a writer asking questions about her friend Alex who has died in questionable circumstances. Patrik is a small-town cop working on the murder case. So many skeletons in so many closets. Mystery/thriller in Scandinavia. I figured out who did it halfway through.
Now, I didn't figure out what T.T.M. meant until almost to the end.
And for that to make sense, you'll have to read the book. HA!

This is a fast paced thriller that balances the best and worst of human nature with a crime story with plenty of twists and turns. Lackberg creates believable characters and weaves a superb story that keeps you turning the pages until the very end, keeping you guessing the entire way. While some aspects are a little predictable (generally the relationship side of the story) this doesn't detract from the book and actually gives it a comforting familiarity.
