The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman is right on target as another exceptional book in the Thursday Murder Club series. I am so thrilled with this unique series that celebrates the knowledge and skills of the older population. Only horses should be put out to pasture, not people who are still vital and capable of contributing. I love that Osman writes about these wonderful, intelligent, energetic septuagenarians. The core of the Thursday Murder Club have returned to us: Elizabeth Best, Joyce Meadowcroft, Ibrahim Arif & Ron Ritchie - all with an admirable zest for life, & an ability to provide value to society, if they so choose. The Club's usual support staff are much in evidence, and there are newcomers to the fold - I wonder if they'll stay.

I started on audiobook but quickly got impatient as the narrator was super slow; even at 1.25x speed, it felt like less than 1.0x. I switched to ebook and it was much better. While the characters were mostly elderly, I don't think they'd be speaking/thinking that slow seeing as they all so very sprightly themselves.

This is another entertaining addition to the Thursday Murder Club series that finds the TMC opening a cold case that becomes interwoven with death threats, crime lords, and cryptocurrency, not to mention faking a death or two. The story is told by the different characters and as ever Joyce's view is so rose tinted and innocent it brings such a balance to Elizabeth's objective one (I do love reading the different ways these two interpret the same events).
