2.5 stars-I'm being kind of hard on this one. I can do violence but here it's very gruesome and just keeps being repeated over and over. I wasn't crazy about the plot either. This is the first book I've read by this author so I may try a different story.

This book kept me reading - I read it over the course of two days, which is not bad for a 500+ page book. I liked the characters, the mystery was interesting although the relationships between the characters was the real story - the mystery was the vehicle to bring everyone together. There were some twists that did surprise me (although I don't read a lot of contemporary mysteries so for others with more experience in the genre they may be more obvious).
