If the entire book had been as intense as the last third or so, this book would've been a total 5! While I enjoyed the first parts, I wasn't overly impressed and was thinking I'd give the book a 3. But then.......wow! I got to the point that I couldn't put this novel down and stayed up far, far too late reading. More twists and turns than a corkscrew! And just when you were catching up - bam! another twist!!

Now I can't wait to move onto number 4 in this series!

Lincoln Rhyme has traveled to North Carolina to have experimental surgery that might help him gain some mobility. A nearby sheriff, Jim Davis, whose cousins to one of Rhymes friends asks for Rhymes help to find two kidnapped women. Rhyme and Sachs begin the hunt for the 16 year old "insect boy" who is the suspected kidnapper. I liked the two previous books better with their hunt for serial killers. I did like that Sachs gets to tell more of the story. This book was still full of lots of twists a ...more

(#3 of the Lincoln Rhyme Series)-This was by far the best of the series. Rhyme and Sachs are in N. Carolina. Rhyme is scheduled to have surgery which could give him more movement. It can also make it worse. While they are waiting to have the surgery, they are called in by a cousin of a colleague to help them find a teenage boy who is accused of murder and kidnapping.
There are several twists and turns to this story. The actual location is the north east part of NC.
