I tried really hard to finish this book but finally I just couldn't take it anymore and gave up.
1) MISOGYNY
There is a violent rape/pederast scene literally almost every chapter, written in a pornographic way from the male viewpoint
2) HORRIBLE PACING
3) STUPID PLOT DEVELOPMENT

I enjoyed this book more than the first book in the series. I think knowing something of the characters and the world helped me jump into this one more quickly. Roy Dotrice continues to do an excellent job as the reader for this series. I can't really imagine picking this up in hard copy, but these long books are good for my commute. The middle portion of this seemed to drag, but it picked up again in the final third with lots of battles and action and wondering which characters were going to ge

Fast paced, full of detail and complex characters, these books draw you in. Looking forward to readin the next one in the series.
The Second book in the Song of Fire and Ice series. Now that the king has died there are at least 5 factions vying for the throne of Westeros. A captivating read and I liked the battle details. Interesting seeing where the show decided to differ from the book.
