I had seen the book in stores for a while and the cover alone is enough to make anyone at least read the synopsis.

When I discovered I could buy it online for practically nothing, I jumped at the chance and am so glad I did.

"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" protagonist, Jacob, is traumatized by the death of his grandfather by a creature only he saw and no one believes him. After some time, he doesn't believe himself. Remembering the last words of his grandfather he sets out to find

This book started out slow. I don't know if I give it five stars. Once Jaccob met the children and starting visiting them did the story pick up. I liked all the children that were featured. I liked that Jaccob came around and stood up for himself. I found it cute that all the headmistresses were named after birds. Having said all that, I would buy it and recommend it. It's a beautiful bo

7/10. Interesting story, but felt more like a set up (for a...trilogy?) than a complete, satisfying story in and of itself. Also felt like the photographs were more the point of the story than the story itself -- all the characters and the plot seemed almost like a justification after the fact. It's like the author was like, "hmm, what is the story behind each of these pictures, and how how best to tie all these stories together into one plot?" Has potential I think in the next book(s), hopefull ...more

I wanted to love this book. I really really tried to but I just couldn't get over how much I hated Jacob. I find it really difficult to like a book when I can't stand the main character. ...more

This book was unique, with very interesting pictures. I think more could have been done with the story, but it was still a good book!
