Randy Pausch's attitude towards life, and towards death, is truly amazing. The book definitely makes you think about how you would handle things if you were in the same situation and makes you understand what he means when he says he's lucky in a lot of ways. It's hard to read it and not feel sad for his wife and kids but it's definitely a positive book. ...more

I watched Randy Pausch's last lecture online around the time that he passed away. Such a great guy with a lot of character! I love his positive attitude and fun approach to life even though he knew he didn't have much time left. We all have tough situations to deal with, and he is a wonderful example of how to make the best with what you've been given. He sets forth some great common-sense advice for living your life to its fullest and fulfilling your childhood dreams. This book is like the lect ...more

This guy was dealt a crappy hand and played it as well as he could. Full marks for spending his last days trying to make his children's lives as ok as possible after he had gone, and full marks for expressing his love for them and his wife in such a public way. Good thing he warns us that he comes across as arrogant....

Randy Pausch is the kind of teacher I would have hated to have in school but would have looked back fondly on in later years. I like that he was so straightforward and called things as he saw them.

Before he died, professor Randy Pausch gave a last lecture to his college students in which he gave advice about achieving your dreams. This book is based on that lecture. The one thing he stressed the most is to never give up--a sentiment I value and try to teach to my own two daughters. I think those who read his book will be inspired to go after their goals.

Beautifully written, never boring or stuffy (as these things sometimes are). I loved the words of advice, the anecdotes, the musings.

Inspiring, and not just because I now want to become an Imagineer.

I feel like I've been granted a private look at the bigger picture.

I really enjoyed this book, and I find Randy's outlook on things so inspiring. This book really does show you that you can't control the cards that you are dealt, but you can always make the best of a bad situation. It's all in your attitude and outlook on life. ...more
