What to say about this book that hasn't already been said time and time again? Read it. It's an utterly fantastic and gripping book. And a classic for a reason.

There isn’t much more to say about this book that hasn’t already been said. I found myself flying through the last 50 pages at such a rapid pace because I was so caught up in it. There is so much history learned from this book about the Civil War and the south. Mitchell is a great history teacher and story teller all in one. At first it was hard to get into. This book has a lot of hx and it seemed at first that this book was about Gerald O'Hara. I like the fact that I got to find out how Gerald became Gerald and Ellen became Ellen and such. But at first it seemed like chapters were about just Gerald.
I enjoyed this book for the most part. There were differences between book and movie, as always. But at least I know the reasons for some of the things that happened in the movie.
