What Members Thought
I was expecting this book to pick up where the Giver left off, or at the very least mention the (view spoiler) He was not mentioned. I'm hoping he might make an appearance in the third book. Actually, I thought he had (view spoiler) but my hopes grew as I learned of the other two books in this series.

I thought this would be a direct continuation from the first story but this is a separate story in the same world. Still enjoyable and a nice, short read.
3.5 stars, really. It wasn't bad. The world was pretty interesting. It just wasn't The Giver. I also felt like the book wasn't long or deep enough for me to really get immersed into the world. Still planning to continue with the series, and maybe I'll be sold with more pages.
