He's so mature for his age, it reminds me of the "if you love someone, you'd let them go" saying. But also, I don't think it's fair of him to choose whether she wants a life where she is demoted a caste. Because he will get married eventually. Whether his wife is another Six or he's raising her up from Seven or Eight, she will still be cold, hungry, afraid, etc (as he'd put it).
