there is significant overlap in symptoms of anxiety, hot flushes, and a heart attack,
for many women the pain of menstrual cramps is worse than the pain of a heart attack—after all, the force generated by the uterus during menstrual cramps is the same as the force generated during the second stage of labor.
Women with more moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms also have an increased risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke. Vasomotor symptoms don’t directly cause heart disease by affecting the heart or blood vessels; rather, it’s believed that the factor that predisposes some women to hot flushes also appears to predispose them to heart disease.
Adverse childhood experiences can cause permanent structural changes to the brain that could make the brain more vulnerable to the process that triggers hot flushes.
the chemical changes that result in hot flushes appear to involve many of the same neurotransmitters as depression.
