I adore it and I want to have it actually encircling a room. I don't know how hard it would be to get a custom-printed wallpaper border. It might be easier to pick a room, measure the circumference, and scale it to fit. No doubt there's someone on the internet with a tutorial for turning something into a mural. And a converter to give me scale.

Lil Nas X recorded "Old Town Road" a song with multiple record-breaking achievements, most recently the certified highest selling song in the US at over 14 million. The gentleman knows how to write a hook with crossover appeal. Arguably not the most important qualities in a children's picture book in general, but important if you're selling an ABC about a contemporary Black country family with horses. Hella charming. So wholesome. He wrote it for his nieces and nephews. Well, ok, you expect that from a guy who wanted to work with Billy Ray Cyrus because of Hannah Montana.
Taylor's art is just as appealing as the text. Those adorable outfits are all based on actual red-carpet wear. The pony, Panini!

It's horrific that they couldn't lead as a provider, that it took international protests for them to embrace non-white creators and content, but that's systematic racism for you.
Anyway, lovely book with a fun rhyming rhythm and an upbeat delivery: plus a recurring cat theme. A board book with inclusive, non-binary pronouns? Oh, hells yes! If anyone ever has babies again, this will become a standard gift from me.

The witches are my favorite characters in Discworld. ***July 29, 2016Ten years ago I went on a business trip to Baltimore, and got to meet an until-then imaginary friend from the defunct book site Readerville. It was lovely, not least of what was so charming was meeting my friend’s adult daughter who was charming and witty and shared her mother’s taste in Pratchett books. My kids were both still little, so grown-up offspring seemed so far away. And now I have a grown-up child, and another nearly so, and yes, sharing books with them is the best thing ever. My thinking is that it's brilliant on so many levels: as an ABC, as a dino-factoid book, as a work of art for the dino illustrations built out of letters, but also for the col pages that are die-cut and fold-out.
But I don't know. Maybe that's just me being all font-geeky and maybe an actual child would find it had too little info about dinos? Sure, I mean, yes, obviously, there are some children who would feel that way. But those children are theoretical to me, and not like any of the kids I've actually known.
The coolest book for fans of this kind of thing, regardless of age.
