This book lifts Ruth from a trite romance novel, or even a crucial step in salvation history to become a personal engagement with what it means to walk with God as he accomplishes his purposes in the world. The study of the Job-like Naomi (who loses everything - & is not even left w a spouse or a community) & the Abram-like Ruth (who leaves everything - without even a promise of blessing) is not shallow or simple. It is profound & stretches the soul.
This book will help any preacher to prepare for communicating the message of Ruth.
